Residents of a Syosset mobile home park fear they'll get the boot in favor of $1 million mansions.
Lorene Lauer, 58, was in tears Thursday after receiving a notice that the Syosset Mobile Home Park on West Jericho Turnpike has been sold to a developer. Lauer, who like other residents owns her mobile home but not the land it sits on, has lived at the park for 20 years.
"I don't make the best money in the world and it was affordable to me," Lauer said. "I don't know where I'm going to go."
An attorney for the new owner maintained there are no immediate plans for the property, but residents said the developer has spray painted trees with orange markings in preparation for construction.
