The gunman who fatally shot a teenage boy in the back as he walked away from a fight in Roosevelt is on the loose.
Police are not releasing much information, but say an altercation led to 17-year-old Kale Ferrow being shot in his front yard Saturday afternoon. The victim?s mother says Ferrow was on his way to a Roosevelt football game at the time. Ferrow leaves behind a 2-year-old son. The victim?s relatives say he tried to improve the quality of life for his son and for others in the community.
The homicide comes days after a woman?s body was found in a wooded area in Roosevelt. Nassau police are trying to identify that victim.
