Students from the Roosevelt Children's Academy dropped off new toys to children in the pediatric unit at Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital on Tuesday.
Toni Burden, a board trustee and parent liaison for the academy, says they feel very passionate about ensuring they are connected to the community.
"All of our students actually come from different parts of Long Island, so we know we are positively affecting the youth of Long Island," Burden said.
The group also dropped off gifts for children at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow who may not be able to spend the holidays at home.
