Ronkonkoma woman faces animal cruelty charges

The Suffolk County SPCA says there were over 40 dogs, eight cats and a bird living in horrible conditions.

A Ronkonkoma woman is accused of keeping dozens of animals in unlivable conditions, officials say.

The Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says there were over 40 dogs, eight cats and a bird in the home.

Detectives say there was garbage, urine and feces throughout the house and empty water bowls.

Susan Lombardi, 53, now faces misdemeanor animal cruelty charges.
