Rocky Point substitute teacher accused of inappropriate conduct
A substitute high school teacher at Rocky Point High School is accused of inappropriately touching a 16-year-old student.
Suffolk police arrested 25-year-old Aimee Otero at the school yesterday after the male student reported the incident to administrators. Police say the inappropriate touching happened last month. It's unclear exactly when it was reported.

Rocky Point Superintendent Michael Ring says that the school has conducted its own internal investigation. He sent a letter to parents that said, "The district is always committed to the safety and well-being of our students and we take matters such as this very seriously."
Otero is charged with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. She was fired from her job.
The district says Otero had been a substitute teacher there since 2015. They also say she passed all mandatory New York state background checks before being hired.

Otero was issued a ticket to appear in court and will be arraigned at a later date.
