Homeowners in Riverhead watched carefully Friday as a storm hit the Island, and many breathed a sigh of relief that conditions weren't worse.
Riverhead Town Supervisor Sean Walter put out a weather and travel advisory asking residents to monitor the storm and be prepared to move in the event of flooding.
"We're concerned about the flooding, we're concerned obviously watching the hurricane, but we think that everything is going to be OK at this point," Walter said.
The community saw some street flooding, but residents told News 12 Long Island that it was nothing compared to recent years.
"I drove right through it," Mary Deveau said.
