Reward for stolen eagle increased to $10K

As much as $10,000 is now being offered for the safe return of the bald eagle that was stolen from the Quogue Wildlife Refuge Tuesday.
As News 12 has previously reported, officials at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge say Sammy the bald eagle was stolen Tuesday sometime between 3 a.m. and 4:15 a.m.
They are particularly worried because the eagle has an amputated wing and can't fly. Sammy has been deemed permanently injured and has lived at the refuge for over 30 years.

They say he cannot survive without their care.

Surveillance video shows a man with a baseball cap carrying a bag out of the refuge that is believed to contain the eagle.

A $5,000 reward is being offered by police, and the Nassau County SPCA is offering an additional $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
