Authorities say five residents were rescued from a raging fire in Huntington Station early Tuesday morning.
Officers responded to report of a building fire on New York Avenue around 1:30 a.m. The two-story building consists of businesses and two apartments.
They say a 6-year-old, a 15-year-old and their parents were trapped on the roof. A fifth resident was still inside the building.
Officers safely escorted all of the residents from the building. The four family members were transported to the hospital as a precaution.
There is no word on the cause of the fire.
