There were several contested mayoral races on the Island. Those races are in Freeport, Garden City, Hempstead, Massapequa Park and Munsey Park.

Residents in 13 villages across Long Island headed to the polls Tuesday.
There were several contested mayoral races on the Island. Those races were in Freeport, Garden City, Hempstead, Massapequa Park and Munsey Park.
There were also two uncontested mayoral races in Floral Park and New Hyde Park. The two incumbent mayors in those villages are not seeking reelection.
Trustees in a number of villages in Suffolk and Nassau were also running.
