New research is suggesting that vitamin supplements aid in breast cancer recovery.
Researchers at Bronx Medical School found women who had already been diagnosed with breast cancer were 30 percent less likely to die from the disease if they had been regularly taking vitamin and mineral supplements, compared to women who did not take supplements.
Dr. Jules Cohen, medical oncologist at Stony Brook University Hospital, says that while there may be some connection between vitamins and breast cancer, much more research needs to be done.
Researchers said there was no one specific vitamin taken by the women involved in the study.
The study can be found in the current issue of Breast Cancer Research and Treatment.
