A total of 57 additional dead cats were found Monday from a recent fire at Happy Cat Sanctuary in Medford, according to rescue groups.

The fire has now claimed the lives of approximately 150 cats in total, as well as the owner of the sanctuary, Chris Arsenault.

Rescue groups say they are still searching for around 60 more missing cats.

“It’s an absolutely horrible sight to see,” said Robert Misseri, of Paws of War. “It’s just tragedy after tragedy after tragedy,” he added.

Frankie Floridia, who leads the Strong Island Animal Rescue League, described the experience as “hell” and “an absolute horror show.”

“I wish nobody would have to see what I saw down there today," he said.

Rescuers had previously pulled a badly burned cat from the wreckage over the weekend, and efforts are still underway to locate more survivors.
