There was a Lindenhurst courtroom confrontation Tuesday as the family members of carbon monoxide victims expressed their frustrations about the case.
Bettina Lewis? daughter, granddaughter and a third West Babylon tenant were killed by carbon monoxide poisoning last month. Lewis and other family members blame the landlord, Wilson Milord.
?He killed my baby, he killed my baby,? Lewis cried out in court.
Milord faces misdemeanor charges and code violations. He is accused of illegally dividing the home into apartments.
Relatives of the victims yelled ?murderer? to Milord during his court appearance. Family members and town officials are now frustrated because Milord?s lawyer asked for a jury in the case. Due to the request, the trial is being delayed for a couple of weeks.
?Anytime there is a delay, the slumlord wins,? Babylon Town Supervisor Steve Bellone said.
Milord is expected back in court Jan. 7. Jury selection is expected to begin sometime later in January.
