A study from the American Psychological Association says violent video games are linked to increased aggression.
However, the study concludes that there is not enough evidence showing violent video games can lead to criminal violence.
Psychiatrist Andrea Carlsen says parents need to be very aware of what kind of games children play and monitor their use.
"I think what's safe to say now is that a lot of exposure to violent video games could be a risk factor," says Carlsen.
Gamer Johnny Keir, of Mastic Beach, says the APA's findings are way too broad. He says he's never had aggressive feelings after playing video games.
"I've been playing my entire life, I've been playing some pretty violent ones and there nothing wrong with me," says Keir.
