Report: Some LI hospitals look to add armed guards
Armed security guards may be coming to more Long Island hospitals, according to Newsday.
Newsday says the officers could patrol six Catholic Health Services hospital along with NYU Winthrop later this year.
Armed guards are already deployed at Stony Brook University Hospital and most of Northwell Health's Long Island hospitals.
Hospitals nationwide have been taking steps to increase security and train staff on active shooter scenarios.
