Rep. Steve Israel was at the Syosset VFW today urging veterans to seek treatment if they believe they were exposed to the toxic chemical Agent Orange.

Hundreds of thousands of soldiers were exposed to the chemical, which is used to defoliate wooded areas, while serving in Vietnam.

"I just want people who were exposed to Agent Orange who need help to get the help," says Israel.

Long Island veterans can find the help Israel is pushing at places like the Northport VA Medical Center. The center treats more than 13,000 Vietnam vets from Long Island every year, but officials believe there are thousands more not seeking treatment.

"I've had prostate cancer, I have diabetes, I have ischaemic heart problems," says veteran Joe Ingino, of Lindenhurst. "A lot of guys are dying right now from it."
