A community of homes for homeless veterans is coming to Orange County.

In a luncheon Monday, Rep. Pat Ryan (D) announced he's secured $1 million in federal funding for the Rumshock Veterans Foundation.

The money will be used to build 10 one-bedroom, one-bathroom houses for homeless veterans in Port Jervis.

They'll live in the home at a reduced cost, which Ryan says will cut down on housing instability and financial stressors.

The congressman adds the new homes will also allow the veterans to focus on training programs and skill development.
