There was a new push Wednesday for power-generating wind farms off Long Island.
Rep. Kathleen Rice held a news conference in Long Beach.
The Garden City Democrat wants the federal government to green light offshore wind development in the area.
Rice is hoping the Department of the Interior will designate development areas and hold new lease auctions before the end of the year.
