Rep. King calls Jets' national anthem stance 'disgraceful'
Rep. Peter King is calling out the Jets over the team's stance on NFL players protesting the national anthem.
As News 12 has reported, NFL owners voted last week to require players to stand for the national anthem or stay in the locker room. Teams will be fined if players don't comply.
Jets chairman Christopher Johnson said he would pay any fines doled out by the league without passing punishment to protesting players.
King called the decision disgraceful, tweeting, "Would he support all player protests? Would he pay fines of players giving Nazi salutes or spew racism? It's time to say goodbye to Jets!"
Johnson has not responded to King's comments.
