A rehabilitated seal pup was released back into the South Shore waters Wednesday, thanks to some West Islip students.

Children at Manetuck Elementary School raised $10,000 so the New York Marine Rescue Center could help the baby seal heal.

In return, the students got to name the seal. They decided to call it Ronan.

Over the years, the kids have raised a total of $50,000 for sea animals' rehabilitation as part of their Community Service Club.
