A new book profiles the stories of the people behind the Long Beach Boardwalk memorial benches.

Superstorm Sandy destroyed the boardwalk back in October. More than 700 memorial benches were spared, but removed from the area.

Jeffrey Singer reached out to families who had dedicated memorial benches to their loved ones in an effort to share their stories with the world.

Singer released the book, entitled "Reflections," today. It tells the stories of 150 Long Islanders who've been memorialized by Long Beach Boardwalk benches.

The city is currently storing the benches in a yard, and officials say they plan to put the benches back on the boardwalk once repairs are complete.
