Puppy found shot to death in Mattituck

A 12-week-old puppy was found shot to death and stuffed in a garbage bag on the East End.
The North Fork Animal League tells News 12 that the young border collie was found Friday at Laurel Lake Preserve in Mattituck. The disturbing discovery was made by someone who was walking their own dog.
Officials say the puppy had been shot twice. It's unclear how long it had been dead before it was found.
The SPCA says it's offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
