Fall is in full swing and that means it's prime time for pumpkin picking!
With so many great spots to pick from across Long Island, News 12 visited Brightwaters Farms in Bay Shore for a day of fall fun.
At the farm, kids can play, feed rescued animals or enjoy a ride around the 15-acre farm.
There are plenty of pumpkins to pick from, this season alone they had a half-million pound harvest.
If you want to cook your pumpkin you should pick a lighter sugar pumpkin - perfect for pies - or the ghost pumpkin - perfect for puree.
The best time to go picking is early in the day and early in the season.
Brighwaters Farms is open for its Fall Harvest Festival until Oct. 30.
