The average price for a gallon of gas in New York is now $3.93, that's up 8 cents since yesterday.

The pain is getting worse at the pump, as surging oil prices push up prices at gas stations across Long Island. This morning oil is about $117 a barrel.
Meanwhile, overnight, gas prices jumped too.
The average price for a gallon of gas in New York is now $3.93, that's up 8 cents since yesterday.
On Long Island, the price for a gallon of regular is $3.91, which is up 7 cents since yesterday.
 
The prices are unlikely to ease anytime soon, as Russia's war with Ukraine intensifies.
To save money, AAA suggests slowing down when you drive. Their experts say anything above 55 miles per hour will force the engine to work harder to overcome extra wind resistance. The faster you go, the more gas is burned.
