PSEG representatives spoke at a public forum Monday evening in Seaford about their plans for the future of Long Island's power.

Company officials say they have a plan that includes rate stability and an increased focus on equipment maintenance.

Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg set up the meeting at Seaford High School as a way to ask officials about what PSEG would do to avoid the mistakes made by LIPA during Superstorm Sandy.

PSEG officials outlined their ideas, which include improving communication with customers by using social media, more tree-trimming and pole inspections and a new outage management system.

Legislator Denenberg and PSEG say they plan to hold two additional forums before the utility takes over for LIPA in January.
