PSEG LI: Power supply charge on the rise in March
Customers of PSEG Long Island can expect another increase to their bills in March.
The increase will be the sixth straight month the power supply charge is rising.
PSEG says the power supply charge will increase 6.2 percent, making it the highest level ever.
The average PSEG Long Island customer will see their bills rise by about $5.53 in March.
The company says the increase is blamed on the subfreezing cold and skyrocketing natural gas prices.
"We're experiencing an incredibly cold winter, much different than we saw last year," says Jeffrey Weir, of PSEG. "So when that happens, the demand and use of that natural gas increases."
