PS 65 students host bake sale to help people impacted by Cypress Avenue fire
The Red Cross says it is working with families left homeless by the fire.

Lemonade and lots of sweet treats filled the P.S. 65 cafeteria on Friday.
A bake sale was held to help more than 100 people affected by the four-alarm fire that tore through a building on Cypress Avenue - including two of them are students at the school.
"They don't have anywhere to live, and they don't have their clothes," said Nevaeh Cottman, a fifth grader helping out with the bake sale.
Cottman is in charge of handing out lemonade at the fundraiser.
"We want to make sure that we can do everything that we can to help," said Cottman.
Nasha Ayala Estevez handed out the cupcakes. She said the goal was $1,000 so they can "exchange and donate to the families that lost everything."
'You never know what they're going through. Or like, we could be in their shoes that you can experience that sometimes. And we want to make sure that they're OK," said Cottman.
The Red Cross says it is working with families left homeless by the fire. The organization has given them cash and hotel rooms and are now looking to find them permanent homes.
