A Home Depot employee is accused of running a charity scam and conning the company out of more than $100,000.

Prosecutors say 57-year-old Alfred Williams used the Home Depot's Matching Gift Program to deposit more than $111,000 by falsely reporting that more than 40 fellow employees had donated to Williams' charity, Faith Without Walls.

Prosecutors say Home Depot's foundation sent matching donations, which Williams deposited for his personal use.

The foundation prohibits charities run by employees from receiving matching funds, but prosecutors say Williams purposely did not list himself as a contact for the now defunct organization.

Prosecutors say Williams had been an employee at the Home Depot in Elmont since 2006.

Williams faces several charges of grand larceny and identity theft.

Home Depot has not returned calls for comment.
