A Queens man is facing an attempted murder charge following an argument inside an Elmont card store.
Prosecutors say John Thorpe, 71, tried to stab a 66-year-old man to death outside Ebony Cards and Gifts over a lottery ticket dispute.
According to court documents, Thorpe then went out to his car in a parking lot, grabbed a tactical knife with a 3-inch blade from the console and went back into the store.
According to the documents, “The defendant ran towards the victim holding the knife yelling ‘I'm going to kill you’ as he intentionally plunged the knife into the left side of the victim's neck causing a deep laceration."
At first, prosecutors say Thorpe was flailing his arms around and resisting arrest. They say he was then Tased by responding police officers.
Thorpe is facing attempted murder and resisting arrest charges. He was held on $250,000 bail.
