Prosecutors say a former Rikers Island correction officer was sentenced to over two years in prison for accepting bribes on Tuesday.
Lawrence’s Krystle Burrell acquired almost $10,000 in bribe payments to smuggle two cellphones to a prisoner associated with the Bloods gang.
Burrell had a romantic relationship with the inmate, prosecutors added.
