Prosecution, defense rest in retrial of Anne Marie Drago

The prosecution and defense rested Wednesday in the retrial of Anne Marie Drago.
The Patchogue woman is accused of running over and killing anti-gang activist Evelyn Rodriguez during a 2018 argument in Brentwood.
Drago was convicted of criminally negligent homicide at her first trial, but a state appeals court tossed out the conviction, claiming that the prosecutor mischaracterized evidence and confused the jury.
Closing arguments in the case are expected to start Thursday.
