A USDA-sponsored program is helping families in need provide food for their children during the summer months, when school lunch programs aren't around.
The nonprofit organization Island Harvest is partnering with Stop and Shop as part of the Summer Food Service Program to ensure no child goes hungry.
Stop and Shop will deliver lunches to kids in programs, parks and libraries across Long Island.
The program starts on Tuesday.
It's estimated that more than 90,000 low-income children are enrolled in free lunch programs at schools across Long Island.
