The professor from Lindenhurst who set a goal to live underwater for 100 days is now back on land.
Dr. Joseph Dituri shattered the world record of 72 days.
Dituri got a lot done while underwater. He had 124 online interactions with students to promote stem careers.
He also taught his biomedical engineering course at the University of South Florida.
As a result of being underwater, Dituri shrank half and inch, his cholesterol fell 72 points and his inflammatory markers decreased by 30%.
Dituri will share his results at the World Extreme Medical conference in November.
