President Donald Trump gave a big boost to the reelection campaign of Shirley Republican Lee Zeldin.

President Trump tweeted "Congressman Lee Zeldin is a fighter for New York! He serves our country in the Army Reserve & works hard for our Vets and first responders. He'll stand with our police, against radical liberal attempts to defund them. Lee has my complete & total endorsement!"

 

Zeldin is defending his 1st Congressional District seat against Democratic challengers Bridget Fleming, Perry Gershon, Gregory-John Fischer, and Nancy Goroff.

New York's primary election is slated for this coming Tuesday, June 23, with early voting available through June 21.
