A pregnant woman involved in a two-car crash in Holbrook lost her unborn child.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Patchogue-Holbrook and Furrows roads Thursday at around 9 p.m. According to police, a woman who was eight months pregnant was traveling northbound on Patchogue-Holbrook Road when she was broadsided by another car.
The woman was airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital, but lost her unborn child. The woman also had a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old in the car. They were also taken to the hospital. The driver of the other vehicle was injured, however, police say the injuries were not critical. People who live near the site of the accident say there are often crashes at that intersection.
