The special election to replace George Santos in Congress is starting to take shape. This week, Democrats announced that Tom Suozzi will be their candidate in the February election. Suozzi represented the 3rd District for six years. Republicans will announce their candidate to replace the expelled Santos next week.
The New York state and Nassau Democratic Chairman Jay Jacobs discussed the special election with Rich Barrabi.
Also – he spent the last 12 years leading Suffolk as county executive. Now, Steve Bellone is getting ready for his next move.
He navigated a difficult financial picture, dealt with rebuilding in the wake of Superstorm Sandy and confronted a scandal in the district attorney’s office.
Bellone joined the show to discuss his tenure in office and his future.
