Deal or no deal? That's the question being asked in Albany over the state's budget. Just hours after Gov. Kathy Hochul announced a "general agreement" on the state budget, top state lawmakers say "not so fast." Hochul's staff says a "general agreement" means the budget is not finalized. Both Assembly Speaker Carl E. Heastie and State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins say the final specifics of the budget still need to be worked out. The budget was due back on April 1.

The race for New York State governor is heating up. There's a new Siena poll that says Gov. Kathy Hochul's favorability is falling. But her lead over Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman is up.

An East End community is speaking in support of a law that would ban police from working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The law would also prevent East Hampton town resources from being used in ICE actions without a warrant.
