There will be a special election this November for the Hempstead Town Council. Republican Chris Schneider, of Seaford, was recently sworn in to fill the vacant 5th District seat left vacant by the late Christopher Carini.

It is now illegal to wear a face mask for certain reasons in Nassau County. Republican County Executive Bruce Blakeman officially signed the measure to make the controversial mask ban law.
