Thunderbolt 12 headed out Monday to Route 109 in Farmingdale to check out a much maligned pothole situation.
News 12's Danielle Campbell checked out the westbound lanes of Route 109 heading toward Hempstead, one of the most common requests from viewers since we started Pothole Patrol.
But now a week after News 12 first visited Route 109, the state's Department of Transportation brings good news -- the westbound side of the road is scheduled to see a repaving this spring.
When pressed on a more specific date, the DOT would only say sometime during the spring.
News 12 viewers who live in the area say spring can't come soon enough. One person called it "like a motocross track" and another said "you can't even drive around it, it's like Swiss cheese."
The state DOT said it had over 20 crews out Monday across Long Island patching potholes.
If you see some concerning potholes on your drives across the Island, we want to see them! Submit a photo below or send them to us with the hashtag #12potholes or #12potholepatrol.
