Business owners in Port Washington staged a revolt against their school taxes Tuesday.
Reminiscent of the Boston Tea Party, business owners stood on the steps of Port Washington High School and shredded their tax bills. Since the county?s reassessment, the average tax hike in the town is 41 percent, and business owners say they are bearing the brunt of it.
They have filed a lawsuit, saying they only want to pay their fair share.
