A holiday tradition is returning to Long Island this weekend as The Village of Port Jefferson transforms into the
Charles Dickens Festival.
The festival is back for a 27th year.
The two-day event draws in thousands of people and kicks off Saturday, Dec. 2, and runs until Sunday, Dec. 3.

The streets of Port Jefferson will be lined with residents volunteering in Dickens-era costumes as Dickens-era characters and performing vignettes from the author’s prolific works.
Some of the activities at the event include concerts, skating, and horse and carriage rides.
