Earl L. Vandermeulen High School in Port Jefferson held it’s St. Baldrick’s Day fundraiser on Friday afternoon to support children battling cancer.
Both students and staff took part in the fundraiser by shaving their heads.
This year, the cause is especially important because some of the school’s own students are cancer survivors.
"This is really important to me being able to raise money for childhood research. I don't want any other child to go through the same thing I went through,” said junior Kyle Martin.
The event had special visitors from the Long Island Beauty School in Hauppauge who put in green hair extensions for students to help raise extra money.
