Poll: Long Islanders prefer Trump to Clinton

A new Newsday-News 12- Siena poll shows that Long Islanders are choosing Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton in a head-to-head general election. Respondents favored Trump 41 percent to Clinton's 38 percent.

A new Newsday-News 12- Siena poll shows that Long Islanders are choosing Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton in a head-to-head general election.
Respondents favored Trump 41 percent to Clinton's 38 percent.
Many people cited Trump's outsider appeal. They also said he speaks his mind.
Clinton's supporters said she has more experience as a senator and the secretary of state.
"The public doesn't like Washington, and Donald Trump comes along on a white horse and says he is going to save the country," said Jerry Kremer, a Long Island political analyst. "The answer is, he's an outsider."
