A new poll shows that the economy tops all of the issues weighing on Long Islanders' minds as they head to the polls on Election Day.
The News 12/Hofstra University poll asked, "What is the most important issue for you in the upcoming election?" A total of 29 percent chose the economy, while 21 percent said property taxes. Another 14 percent said integrity in government was most important, while 12 percent said crime. Immigration was most important to 11 percent of respondents.
Nine percent of those polled chose "other," while 4 percent didn't know or were undecided.
