A Massapequa woman is accused of stealing $100,000 from her employer by forging checks, and police say she also filled fraudulent drug prescriptions.
Police say Yessenia Alongi, 37, forged and cashed numerous checks from her Merrick employeer. She allegedly cashed the checks between March and July of this year.
Police say a subsequent investigation discovered that Alongi had stolen a prescription pad from a doctor and filled dozens of fraudulent prescriptions, mainly for opioids, at numerous pharmacies on Long Island.
Alongi is charged with grand larceny and numerous counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
