Police say Maria Hernandez-Sanchez, 59, of Amityville, was crossing Sunrise Highway near Bayview Avenue around 10 p.m. Wednesday when she was hit.
They say the car involved was a gray SUV, which drove off heading east on Sunrise Highway.
