Authorities say a woman is facing a DWI charge after she crashed into a Suffolk patrol car with an officer inside in Port Jefferson Station.
Police say just after midnight, Janet Marlowe was intoxicated when she was driving a Honda Civic northbound on Route 112 near Sagamore Hill Drive.
Officers say she crashed her car into a parked patrol car, causing the Civic to flip on its side.
News 12 was told the patrol car had its emergency lights flashing and there was an officer sitting inside. The officer was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Marlowe was arrested and charged with DWI.
This crash is similar to another one involving a Suffolk officer and an alleged drunk driver. Last month, Officer Timothy Thrane was nearly killed when he was hit by an alleged drunk driver in Yaphank.
Officer Thrane was investigating an earlier accident when he was struck. The 35-year-old officer was released from rehab a few days ago after what many are calling a miraculous recovery.
