A Uniondale arrested in the murder of a Hempstead teen faced a judge today.
Prosecutors say Leron Watts, 22, played a part in the drive-by shooting that killed his second cousin. Watts pleaded not guilty to murder.
Police say Watts drove the vehicle used in a drive-by shooting down Terrace Avenue on the night of June 4.
Watts’ second cousin, 19-year-old Jaden Johnson, had been waiting for a cab when he was killed and five others were injured, prosecutors say.
Johnson’s mother said they still don't believe the shooting was targeted and that her son was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Watts will appear again in court later this month.
