Police say a driver was high on drugs when she crossed a double yellow line and slammed into a bus carrying handicapped children.

Authorities say 29-year-old Tyajia Anthony, of Central Islip, crashed her Jeep SUV head-on into a mini school bus on Connetquot Avenue. There were two physically challenged students on board, who are confined to wheelchairs.

The Jeep and bus caught fire following the crash.

No one was seriously hurt in the accident.

Court documents say that Anthony told police, "I'm not drunk, I just smoked a little weed last night." She also refused to submit to a blood test, so authorities secured a search warrant to take her blood.

Anthony has six suspensions on her driver's license.

Anthony is charged with driving under the influence and will be arraigned in Central Islip Criminal Court Thursday.
