A tractor-trailer carrying crushed cars overturned on the Long Island Expressway Saturday.
Suffolk police say a sedan exiting the Sagtikos Parkway cut in front of the tractor-trailer in the eastbound lanes of the roadway. They say the tractor-trailer hit the sedan before jackknifing and overturning.
The drivers of both vehicles, and a passenger in the sedan were all transported to Southside Hospital with minor injuries.
Eastbound lanes on the highway were shut down by Exit 53 for several hours due to the crash. All lanes have since reopened.
