Authorities say a threat made on TikTok against Dodd Middle School in Freeport was a prank.

Police say they have identified the two students responsible for the prank, adding that the threat was not credible and there were no means or intent to carry it out.

News 12 has been told the district is working with the Freeport and Nassau police departments on the ongoing investigation.

The superintendent emphasized the importance of parents talking to their children about speaking with a trusted adult before any information is spread.

School was open as normal.
